What counts as an awarded result?

If one player is clearly responsible for a match not being played — for example by not showing up, not replying, or repeatedly cancelling agreed times — SPINCITY may award the other player a 4–0 win.

🏓 League Format

Division Structure

Each division has 8–10 players. Every player plays once against every other player in the same division.

Match Order

Matches can be played in any order. There is no fixed schedule that players must follow.

Match Format

Matches are played as best of 7. Individual games are played to 11 points.

Recommended Pace

Players are expected to organise their matches actively during the season. Recommended pace: around 1 match per week.

📩 Organising Matches

1

Contact

Each division will have its own WhatsApp group where players can communicate and arrange matches.

2

Table Booking

Matches must be booked through the SPINCITY system and can only be played at BUDA or PEST.

3

Table Hire Cost

Unless players agree otherwise, the table hire cost is split 50/50 between both players.

No-show and Late Cancellation

If a player does not show up for an agreed match, or cancels too late, they may receive an awarded loss, and where justified may also be charged the full cost of the table booking.

Ball

The two players may decide together which ball to use. If they cannot agree, a SPINCITY 3-star ball must be used.

📈 Promotion and Relegation

Promotion

Top 2 players

The top two players in each division move up for the following season.

Relegation

Bottom 2 players

The bottom two players in each division move down for the following season.

Placement of New Players

SPINCITY reserves the right to place new players into divisions according to playing level in order to keep competition balanced. After placement, players do not move up automatically — promotion must be earned through results.

Top and Bottom Division

There is no promotion from the top division and no relegation from the bottom division. In these cases, players stay at their current level and continue there in the next season.

📋 Other Important Rules

Submitting Results

After the match, the result must be sent to the division WhatsApp group or by email. It must include both players’ names and the final score, for example: Peter Kovacs – Gabor Nagy 4–2.

Unplayed Matches

Matches not played by the end of the season are worth 0 points for both players, unless it is clearly established that one player is at fault. In that case, SPINCITY may award the win to the other player.

Withdrawal During the Season

If a player withdraws during the season:

– if they have played less than 50% of their matches, all previous results are deleted
– if they have played at least 50% of their matches, their results remain valid

Disputes

In all disputed situations — including scheduling issues, awarded results, result validity, or interpretation of the rules — the SPINCITY decision is final.

Sportsmanship

Players are expected to behave fairly and in a sporting manner. In cases of serious or repeated unsporting behaviour, SPINCITY may issue a warning, award a match loss, or exclude the player from the league.

Right to Amend Rules

SPINCITY reserves the right to amend the rules if needed in order to keep the league fair and running smoothly.
